It's Dangerous Business

"Now what are you gonna do?" asked the killer Chloe, as Jade had left and they've said their goodbyes.
"Well .. maybe stick around, just to annoy you." the Australian grinned as Rubi rolled her eyes.
"Well, let's head home." she said after a little eye-to-eye fight with the hyper Chloe. She decided to simply follow them.
"So .. we headin' to Texas?" Elena asked, a little confused and unsure.
"Yes ... if you wanna come along, that is." the red haired chick stopped, looking at her and Richard. Secretly hoping they'd join her still.

"I'd love to," smiled Chloe and nodded like a lunatic. "Not you, aussie," Rubi almost spit out and rolled her eyes, facing Elena and Richard again. "Of course... I mean, this isn't over... let's see what news Raylan will find out. We have no other clues right now... we don't know if there are any other guys Esmond hired, there apparently are or else he wouldn't have smirked like that." - "Yah... whatever. I need beer. And whiskey. Hell if I ran out of alcohol, I'm gonna kill someone," said the killer with anger in her face and went along the streets of Berlin, when Elena and Richard started to laug and put their arms around Rubi's neck. "I wasn't kidding," she added and the pair forbeared from her again.

A big sigh leaved the marshal's mouth. "now the only thing left is interrogating that bastard right?" Bridget said with relief. "Yeh, but I doubt if he will speak... Where can we drop you off?" "Oh, doesn't matter... If you guys stop at a police office, I can get out and walk away... Don't have any specific destination." and so they drove towards the police office. "Hey Raylan, need to fly him to good ol' 'Merica?" Tim asked. "Well, could be a good plan but, why fly him there when he can be locked down here?" the marshal said. "Good point."
"Well, this is goodbye for us then." Bridget said while walking towards the two cops. She gave them both a handshake. "Yeh thanks for your help. We appreciate it." "Your welcome." Bridget winked, turned around and walked away.
"What a girl ain't she?" Tim said with a sigh. Raylan smirked and gave him a slam on the shoulder. "I'd say do what you do best?" and Raylan walked into the police office with a huge grin, folowing the cops who just brought Esmond in.

With the money Rayland has given them they bought airplane tickets back to Texas and in a few hours found themselves in the familiar training place again.
A dirty smirk spread over Rubi's face.
"Home, sweet home." she mumbled, surprisingly grabbing Elena and Richard by the hand and pulling them with her into the old, crashed plane they learned to love and cherish.
"So ... we have Whiskey, Beer ... Wine" Rubi started right out, searching through the small fridge, throwing away some bottles, looking at this and that.
"Oh wow ... 1920 ... that's older than you Richard." she joked.
Both Elena and the taxi driver looked at each other confused, but then smiled, happy to see their killer buddy in such a good mood. And they celebrated that with a romantic kiss.

"Quite a day," said Richard and sighed, watching the sunset and poured the whiskey in the glass before reaching it over to Elena. "Tell me about it." The journalist took a sip directly from the bottle and gave it to Rubi, who was sitting on a box next to the plateau in front of the plane. "Let's just hope that explosion didn't infect anybody..." The taxi driver seemed concerned as he was closing his eyes and leaned back into the divan bed he was laying on. "I'm sure they put this place under quarantine already. I'm worrying about Esmond though... what if he made it out? And what if he has other guys out there, delivering the virus to all the big companies like he has told us?" The pair was obviously not able to take a break from all this. Rubi was totally calmed down though. "You guys... drink more whiskey and shut up. Esmond is the police's problem now. Jade's little secret island is safe out there and will never be found by anyone and these guys are tracked by all the secret services now." Elena slowly started to nodd. "You're right. Let's just... chill. We literally went through hell. In less than three months." The killer started to laugh like she never did before. "Oh boy. If you guys know what hells [/b]I[b] have been through! You're too cute. But I love you." Rubi high-fived both of the friends and the trio was sitting in the wrack for several hours, doing nothing but talk and relax. They've earned their rest and they were clearly enjoying it.

"Hmm... Wha what?" Richard was waking up and found the condition he was in.
Lying in a chair which fell down. "What the?" He got up from the uncomfertable position and looked around. There he saw Rubi and Elena lying in bedsheets. "Oh yes... you two had a normal night hu..." he mumbled. he shook Rubi awake, but as reply he got a gun against his nose. "Oh.. it's you! Don't ever do that again!" she yelled making also Elena awake. "Hmm? what's going on?" the women also stretched themselves out. "So why did you shook me awake Richard?" Rubi then asked annoyed. "Well... I was wondering... You have a shower?" a silence fell. "uhm, well... There is one in that broken building there, but I'm affraid the only water you get there, is cold and a bit dirty." she replied. "I'll get used to it..." and so the taxi driver went down. "I'm sure he needs it after how drunk he was last night." Elena giggled and Rubi laughed. "Well... I was wondering how he could've slept on when he dropped on the ground with the chair. Seems it was to much alcohol then." and the woman laughed on.

Elena and Rubi sat there in comfortable silence for a while. Enjoying the warmth the alcohol had set in their tummies and each others company.
The night was clear, no clouds covering the stars or the moon, it was warm but not too hot.
"What about some gun practice?!" Rubi suddenly exclaimed, her tongue heavy, the words hardly understandable.
"A fun what?!" Elena slurred.
"A GUN practice!" Rubi corrected before the fell off her chair, not moving an inch as she hit the ground, instead she started to snore.

"Oooooh you mean a run practise? Sure... fine... I'll race you to that hall over there! Ready... set..." Before the journalist could give the signal to start running, she fell over the stool Rubi was sitting on a moment ago and landed right on the back of the killer and fell into a deep sleep.

The sun was burning down on the old airfield. Crickets were chirping in the distance and some eagles were circling over the old, abandoned desert. "Wha-wooooooooa" was the first noise Elena made that day, as she tried to stretch her extremities. "Where did everyone go?", she thought as she had trouble getting back on her feet due to the pain in all of her body parts. "Oh.. there you are," she smirked when she saw the killer who had been slumbered away, boozed up to the eyeballs, lying underneath her feet.

"Ahoy there sweetheart!" Elane turned around in shock and she looked down from the crashed plane. There stood Richard with an empty beer bottle waving like a complete lunatic. "Ha, ha! hello there!" and Elena waved back. She had a terrible headache. Richard tried to get up in the plane but everytime he tried he fell down. "Urgh... Can't seems to get my-" and he fell down again. Elena's only respond was to laugh. After another try he finally got there. "Mmmmwhaere's Rubiiii!?" He said with open eyes. "Right over there!" Elena pointed to the killer which still lied knock out on the floor. "My you look terrible!" she then said towards the, apperently, still drunken taxi driver. He had stubbles and it looked all black around his eyes. He even had scratches. "Where the hell have you been!" Elena asked worried. "Remember... When I asked Rubi for that shower?" he tried to sit down on the chair, Elena helped him with that. "A lot of beer there!" he hiccuped and burped. "I couldn't resist." and he winked. "I think I should try and sleep now..." and he fell uncomfertably asleep on the chair again. Elena sighed when short after a drunk killer awakened

"A lot of beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee" her beginning of a sentence was interrupted by a little hick-up. But she didn't make it much further anyways.
The days passed and the trio had quite the ball. During the day Rubi would train them, teach them how to shoot, swing from bars and .. all other kinds of things, for all kinds of weird surroundings they might ever step into. Soon they all turned into quite the athletics. Richard's eyes became a lot better, he shot almost as good as Rubi by now. And Elena turned out to be quite the good fist fighter, she also did really good with machinery guns, to Richard's obvious terror.
They grew closer together and the killer learned to have faithful friends and fun. She did better in giving a few compliments here and there, and if there would ever be any kind of threat to her new-found family, she'd simply rip it to pieces and protect the journalist and taxi driver with her life.
It was a quiet and good life. Richard was still a taxi driver, now in Texas though. And Elena kept writing reports. She got also very interested in photography. Rubi always said it was still a bit of Jade's influence. The killer had some small jobs here and there. But they got around and had a respectful amount of money to live on.
Everything was peaceful, 'till that one day when the phone rang ....

Richard was sitting next to the plane wrack, reading the paper, Rubi was busy cleaning her guns in the inside of her "house" and Elena was just sitting on the plateau, getting her phone out of her trouser pocket. "Fisher?", she responded, having the mobile next to her ear. Her facial expression was telling the others more than any words could tell right now. "Yah... Alright. I'll inform the others. See you." She jumped off the plateau and went straight to the plane, putting her phone back away. "Who was it?", Richard asked, laying the paper down on the dusty ground. "It was Raylan. Osmund is dead. They found his corpse in his prison cell, he was shot in the head."

"Well that brings the end to that one..." Raylan escorted the workers with the brancard outside. A lot of media was prescence there. Everyone was there to hear about the murder. "Who got murderd?" "Was it an important person!?"
Raylan shut the door of the ambulance and went back inside. After pushing himself through crowds of journalists.
"No clues found yet?" he asked a fellow cop and he shook his head. The marshal went back down to the cell blocks the blood was still lying around. He looked around with a confused faced and started to think. He then opened his mouth. "Who was on guard duty while this might've happened?" Rachel walked upon him and answered it with a name unknown to Raylan. "Where can I find him?" "Just outside, can't miss him. He's already being interrogated by two other cops."
Raylan went out and found the cops. "I've got it now fellows." he grinned and tipped his had towards the leaving cops. "Let's just drop right in there Mr?..." "Madsen... sir..." and the cop got nervous. "Well Mr. Madsen... Have you seen any suspicious behaviour?" "Well no! I haven't seen anyone go in!" he said with true words. Raylan sighed. "And come out?" "Well..." The cop started to hesitate. "Don't tell anyone please! Or she will kill me!" "Excuse me?" "She had blonde hair and an eye patch!!! That's all I know! Please! Don't tell anyone!" Raylan looked at him with disbelief. "Thank you for your help." and he walked away getting out his cellphone once again, to call the group in Texas."

"I thought his name was Esmond." Rubi exclaimed, wrinkling her forehead.
Richard blinked at her for a second, before saying "So he's dead. That's great, isn't it?"
"Well, that's not all ... " Elena began.
The others waited curiously for further information.
"Well ... he was shot by, so they think, one of his fellows."
Rubi scowled. "That makes no sense whatsoever, why would he do that?"
"Well .. that we have to find out."

"My god and I thought we could finally have some rest," Elena sighed when Rubi interrupted her. "Waddaya mean 'some rest'? You've had two months of rest, sunshine!" The killer pat the journalist's back and stood up from the old chair she had been sitting on. "Alright, so... we're going to meet Raylan now?", asked Richard and crossed his arms. "Most likely. We should visit him at his office. Officially, we aren't involved in all this mess anymore, but I won't let that sick person's plan succeed. Even though he is dead, his men will not give up that easily. It's kinda weird they didn't act in these two months, or at least we didn't notice them acting. But anyway, let's pack some stuff and... Rubi?" The killer was already leaving the area through the gate in the fence when she stopped and turned around. "Do I look like I need to pack anything?"

After packing some backpacks with food, extra clothes and, to Richard's disgust, a gun they all went to the car.
"Well, as my job as a driver I'm gonna drive!" Richard was smiling and held up his keys. Rubi and Elena smiled back and got in. "To the airport again!" and he raced through the deserted area. "Wow! What happened to you!?" When Rubi saw he was driving almost 200 miled per hour. "Haha! Just having a bit of fun!" and so he slowed down. "And besides! IF we get a ticket I'm sure Raylan will take care of it!" the taxi driver winked and the two woman just chuckled.

This time they went to Lexington in Kentucky to meet up with Raylan. "Well... Again we spend out saved money on plane tickets..." Elena sighed and gave Rubi and Richard a ticket. "And I still hate to fly" Rubi took a glimpse of the plane they flew with. "Oh come on it's just a short flight this time!" and Richard patted her on the back. "Ah well... Guess It'll have to be done..." and the trio went in for another flight

"Ma ... ned scho wiii-" Elena slapped the killer lightly and whispered "Pst, wrong role play forum."
"ohhh!" the killer coughed to clear her throat and get back into the right language.
"You said you wonder why they haven't been active for two months" she started again. Elena nodded.
"But I bet they were ... only cuz we didn't hear anything doesn't mean they didn't DO anything." that was a thought, and everyone turned quiet and thought about that for a while.
The flight itself was fortunately fast, the food was horrible and the crew was okay.
They were just happy to be out of the plane. Rubi felt like booking the next best hotel and just sleep for another day or so, but it was urgent after all. And Richard drove them smooth and fast to his office.

"Hello there, can I help you?", a friendly woman at the counter behind the entrance asked and smiled towards the trio. "Uh, we're searching for Raylan." The woman wrinkeled her eyebrows. "Raylan?" - "Raylan... uh. Raylan... did he ever tell us his surname?", Richard laughed. "Givens. Raylan Givens, Deputy U.S. Marshal," Elena added and smirked. "Oh. Of course, he already awaits you. Follow me through here please," the lady smiled and went ahead, while the friends followed her into a big office with huge windows and a big wooden desk. "Raylan!", yelled Elena with obvious happyness in her face when she saw the old friend sitting behind the desk. "Hello there, ma'am!"

After telling the story to the trio again about what happened to Esmond the trio was shocked to hear that Bridget might've been behind all this. "But... that doesn't make sense! Why would she do that!?" Elena asked shocked. "We already know how she came in." The marshal said. He stared angrily at Tim. "Seems Gutterson over there made a little mistake." Tim turned around by hearing his name. "Oh, come on Raylan it could've happened to anyone!" and he left the room. "What happened then?" Rubi asked. "Well, after we dropped Bridget off, Tim followed her and tried to be a nice guy, if you know what I mean." the trio already knew what was coming. "Normally he's alert as hell, but this time he didn't notice her taking his keys." and the marshal made a sarcastic smile. "Wow, now we only need to find her and see if we can ask why she did it." Richard said.
"Well, as far as we are, we can't find her." Raylan got up from his desk and grabbed his hat. (I still want it). "But I think there's a chance of finding her in the bar where she and Tim where a couple days ago." "Well, no time to loose! Let's go!" and as always Rubi immediatly left.

"I don't think walking up there and just ask will do the trick" the killer mumbled as they made their way outside the big office.
Getting in one of the police cars they headed to the bar, Raylan mentioned.
Careful, as to not attract attention they went in and looked around. Fortunately Raylan wasn't wearing his cop uniform, which would have been like a red warning sign to everyone in the room. It was quite full for that time a day. Many people were chatting, having drinks and enjoying their evening. It was quite a pleasant place for that loud and noisy city.
The friends looked around, trying not too look to obvious and then finally!
"Got cha!" the killer grinned sadistic and pointed to a corner where Bridged was sitting on one of the tall bar stools, chatting with another guy, obviously flirting with him.
"Wait!" Elena pulled the insane Rubi back.
"You can't just walk up there and start a fight!" she hissed, quiet as for no one else but them to hear them.
"Why not?" Rubi asked, seriously confused over her friend's concern.
"Well ... because we are civilized people" Elena answered but only got awkward silence as a response from her unique friend.
Rubi just blinked but gave in sighing, putting her pistols back in the holsters.
"Then you go ahead, Mrs. Civilized!" she said sarcastic, stemming her hands in her waist.

"Excuse me Miss..." The blonde woman turned around and made a shocked face. "You! Here?", she gasped and got off of her stool. "Yeah. We. Here," Elena repeated and roled her eyes. "Could we... talk to you for a minute?", Raylan went ahead and dragged Bridget into a hallway of the bar. The others followed quickly and surprisingly didn't attract any attention. "We know what you did," the marshal said calmly and crossed his arms. "Yeah? What did I do then?" - "Oh come on," Rubi rolled her eyes and was apparently sick of the woman's games. "Alright, yeah. I did it. And now? I told you I would. Was just a matter of time. Don't forget who helped you with all that research," Bridget defender herself and was looking around paranoidly. "You can't just kill an imprisoned cult leader. That's just..." - "Yeah? That's just? What? Against law? Is it against law to kill someone who wanted to spread a deadly virus all over the world to control it? Who killed around 200 people, including my family, who stole my childhood, kidnapped me, abused me, who..." The blonde woman suddenly stopped, after she had already shed a few tears. "I don't have to justify myself."

The group stood there looking awkwardly around. Not knowing what to do. "Well, I guess that's fair enough." Raylan got his hand of his holster and gave the crying woman some comfort. "Well, what do we do now?" Elena asked with a sad face. "I don't know but that bitch is a whiney one..." "RUBI!" Elena and Richard said angrily together. "Sheez..." Rubi glanced angrily at Bridget "I'm gonna scout outside..." and she left. "Here go her feelings again." Richard smirked. "Well you know how she can be." and Elena grinned.

When Rubi had left and Richard and Elena sat down together with Bridget, Raylan still had a skeptical facial expression, while looking at the blonde woman with the eye patch. "You guys have heard about the government in Phnom Penh?" You could clearly see the relief in her face, when the woman had finally changed the topic. "Uh... no? What happened?", Elena asked and leaned back into her chair. "There as an incident with the Cambodian People's Party. Some people have died, they found their corpses and they were all rotten. They say it was caused by a deadly poison. It's obviously the virus. The Cambodian People's Party and the Sam Rainsy Party had been fighting for the command of Camobdia for over two years now and now almost every member of the People's Party including their leader have died by that mysterious poison incident. Sounds suspicious, aye?" Elena and Richard gasped, Raylan was sitting down in the meanwhile. "My good... this is so not good." Bridget nodded. "Do you remember your flight to Cambodia? Esmond had chosen exactly this flight for his best man Matthew to deliver the virus to Kanapak Wai, the leader of Sam Rainsy Party. Since it all didn't go as planned, he had to cancel the mission and find a new person who was worthy to act it out properly. In the meanwhile they have also improved the drug itself. And this is exactly the crucial point. I didn't hear anything from them for over two months now. I doubt that you did so. They might have upgraded that god damn virus another time. It should be even deadlier and harder to stop as we could see in Cambodia two days ago. It was spread and within a few seconds it killed about one hundred employees in the building."

As she was waiting outside she saw some strange people walking by. Not just normal strange people like .. punks and such, but really strange people.
Rubi of course, before she has had headed out, had gotten herself a bottle of beer, which she was enjoying now, and leaned against the cop car, watching people.
And these strange people, who were really strange, caught her attention. They looked exotic, like they were from Cambodgia (or how you spell it). She noticed guns at their sides and knifes. She narrowed her eyes and decided to tell her friends about it.
"Sorry to interrupt your sweet talk" she burst right in "but I just saw some really strange people."
Raylan lifted an eyebrow "Turning into a little cop there Miss Malone, hm?"
"Just come with before they're gone."
She and Bridged looked at each other for a while.
"Alright, alright. Come along."
Bridged followed smiling.

The group hurried outside with Rubi on the lead. "I swear I saw them!" she hurried along into a separate street. "Are you sure?" Elena catch up with her and looked around. "Rubi's on the right track." Raylan suddenly said. "Why is that?" and Richard also catch up. "Look here." and the marshal bow down in a corner of the street. "There's a bloody knife here. Can't be a coincidence" the group encircled around Raylan and looked at the knife. "Well, why don't we try there?" and Bridget, who got her old attitude back, pointed towards a small dark alleyway. "We could try?" Richard gulped. "Okay so then we do, everyone guns out." "What!? noo.. No!" and Richard backed away. "Why always guns!?" Suddenly they heard a growl. Everyone looked around but the source was unknown. "Ah!" they suddenly heard coming out from the place Richard just stood. "Where did he go!?" Elena gasped and looked worried around. "RICHARD!" the group was confused. "Okay, time to get into the dark alleyway." I figure he might be taken there." Raylan got out his gun and walked in first. "I follow! We need to find him!" and thus Elena followed as well. "Well you first?" Rubi sneered towards Bridget. "Fine..." and so the duo followed

"My god, there's blood!", Elena gasped and pointed at a trail of blood leading through the alleyway. "Let's hope it's not Richard's," said Raylan and patted the journalist's back, before he ran further, following the narrow street until it ended. "Okay. What now?" The group looked around, Bridget and Rubi were facing the other end of the street so they wouldn't be followed. "There! That door knob!" Raylan took a look at the door, which was full of blood as well. "Well, let's go in then."
